For our future with the rainforest

The future of the Amazon people lies in the forest. They want to live with their forest and their culture in a contemporary way. To achieve this, the livelihoods in the villages must be adapted and improved in all areas.

The former way of life of the indigenous people of Amazonia as hunters, gatherers and fishermen has no future. Due to sedentarization and strong population growth on the one hand, and a lack of education and the negative influences of civilization on the other, the forest peoples are forced to retrain if they do not want to be wiped out along with their forest.

Many indigenous leaders are awareof this current situation. That is why they asked AMAZONICA for support and advice in their efforts to survive.

The forest people are born guardians of their forest. In the face of exploitation and destruction, we must support them in their vital work.
„Protecting the tropical rainforest by supporting its indigenous people“ is AMAZONICA’s motto.
The „Model for contemporary living and working in the forest“ was developed by AMAZONICA together with the Achuar, Shuar and Kichwa in model villages over many years. The tried and tested model has been available to other villages since 2008.

AMAZONICA’sfinancing options determine how quickly and how many village communities can be helped on their way into the future.
